My inspiration for creating the character of Little Missy Angel came from my observance of the budding years of my granddaughter Nuha. Her cute innocence and exuberance made an indelible impression on me that I felt obliged to immortalise in a story book character. In her early years of about one, my wife took care of her for a short while when her parents were at work. Now don't be mistaken, I love all my grand children but she drew my attention in a special way. Every morning after my son dropped her off she would stand by my bedside and jabber away in a language only she understood much like the little bird Precious in the story book. However, as I see my grand children growing up, it saddens me to see how society's once much cherished customary bedtime and camp-fire story-telling has become almost obsolete. Hooray! I say to all those parents still keeping up the tradition though. Believe me the impersonal cellphone cannot replace that family connectivity the way a good story does, period!
Another reason for writing this story book was my own love for story telling. When I was growing up a maternal uncle who often visited on Sundays told us stories from the famous Arabian Nights which he knew by heart. He had the habit though of stopping at the most exciting part and leave us in suspense until his next visit. I thank my wife Scheega for her inspiration, support and patience; and thanks to my sons Naeem and Faheem for their hard work in the production of the cover design . and to my daughter Miesqa for her encouragement.
In the book find out 'What happened to Precious' ; 'I am going to die out here!" ; Those creepy eyes in the dark gave us the creeps' and more.
Enjoy the read!
