Adventures in the Arctic, first published in 1932 as &quote;Pechuck,&quote; is a fascinating account of exploration, based on the diary of Lorne Knight, who sailed on the Polar Bear in 1915, later joined the Canadian Arctic Expedition, and accompanied Vilhjalmur Stefansson on his journeys in far northern and western Canada in 1917-18. Knight died of scurvy on Wrangel Island in 1923, during a failed attempt to establish a settlement there. Included are 10 pages of maps and photographs.
