Title: Agrippa I: Architectural Remains, Coinage, and Diplomacy in Judaea

Description: Explore the intriguing world of ancient Rome and the Herodian Dynasty through a unique blend of true crime, archaeology, and historical analysis. Based on a Master's thesis which achieved full grades, this volume aims to meticulously reconstruct the life and rule of Agrippa I, ultimately uncovering the truth behind his assassination.

Historical Reconstruction: Delve into the life of Agrippa I, tracing his journey from fugitive beginnings to becoming a prominent ruler in Judaea. The narrative spans from his time with his uncle Antipas in Tiberias after leaving his time as a fugitive at Malatha Fortress in the Negev to the zenith of his career.

Multidisciplinary Approach: Employing archaeological evidence (such as architectural remains) and numismatic data (coinage) alongside insights from ancient Roman, Jewish, and early Christian sources, this volume reconstructs Agrippa's life, setting the stage for the true crime investigation into the mysterious circumstances of his death.

Agrippa's Diplomacy: Faced with a complex political landscape, Agrippa I's success lay in his adeptness at navigating diverse and often opposing factions. This section explores how he skilfully negotiated with various groups to maintain peace within his realm.

Comparative Analysis: Unlike some of his contemporaries, Agrippa I achieved remarkable stability in Judaea. This volume examines the factors that contributed to his success, shedding light on his unique approach and the delicate balance he struck between differing interests.

Highlight: Written by a classical archaeologist who is also a Doctor of Medicine candidate, Agrippa I: Architectural Remains, Coinage, and Diplomacy in Judaea offers a captivating journey into the secrets of ancient history, appealing to academics, students, history enthusiasts, and true crime aficionados.
