She did all she could to make him love her alone so that the greatness of kingship and authority would come to him after he married her. Radames did not reject Amneris' love outwardly so that his affair with Aida would not be exposed. Unfortunately for the Abyssinian girl, Pharaoh's daughter discovered the secret of her relationship with Radames, and from that time on she began to be cruel to Aida and treat her badly.
