Autorenporträt
Alex Hijmans is a Brasil-based Dutchman who learned the Irish language when studying in Ireland in the mid-nineties. His publication Favela (Cois Life, 2009) which documented life in the poorer parts of Salvador, Brasil's third largest city, was shortlisted for the 2010 Irish Language Book of the Year Award.
