If Al-Ghazali, may God have mercy on him, were asked: Are you a philosopher? What might his answer be? Most likely, he was answering in the negative, and the truth in his denial was nothing more than the suspicion of philosophy about himself, since philosophy in that era had a meaning other than the meaning that we understand now in the present era, and other than the meaning that those who coined the word wanted out of humility on their part, and they did not want to describe themselves as wise, so they were content with the love of wisdom, which is the meaning of the word philosophy in Greek, as is known. In the era of Al-Ghazali, its meaning was that it was a statement from which he deserved a response, and his inconsistency in the discussion was demonstrated by argument and evidence. Had it not been for that, he would not have chosen the name "incoherence of philosophers" for his discussion, as if he meant by it the inconsistency of philosophy at all. Abbas Mahmoud Al-Akkad
