Autorenporträt
Jerry Champion is a veteran of the United States Army and served with Charlie Battery, Second Battalion, Eighth Field Artillery, 7th Infantry Division (Light). As a Cold War Soldier and Lightfighter at Fort Ord, California, he first visited Alcatraz Island in 1986. The visit to Alcatraz Island led to his eventual career in law enforcement as a correctional officer in the State of Florida. His interest and research on the topic of Alcatraz Island history has resulted in three books entitled; The Fading Voices of Alcatraz (2011), Alcatraz Unchained (2012), and Alcatraz The Charles Manson Connection (2018).
