Not for the feint hearted, the politically correct or the easily shocked, these short stories, written in free verse style and only slightly more punctuated than 'Archie & Mehitabel', are a 'soap opera' in a book. A look inside a rather odd community - which could be a "retirement community" but happens to be a community of geriatric toys. All the old favourites are there and all of them are passed their sell by date, which is why they are now, on the one hand wiser but, on the other hand often opinionated, rude, offensive, cruelly mischievous and polemic. At the same time these toys are also witty, eloquent, endearing and entertaining. They debate and challenge everything - life, love, relationships, politics, religion, theology and their view on modern day life is...... different. This is the first of three books transcribed since 2000. Transcribed because, without doubt the toys supplied the words and the author just wrote them down. Definitely a 'guilty pleasure' for anyone who is slightly wicked and mischievous and who is looking forward to ageing disgracefully!
