Autorenporträt
Joe Steve Ó Neachtain was born in An Chré Dhubh, Spiddal, Co. Galway, Ireland, in 1942. He first began writing in 1969. He has written plays, novels, short stories, poetry, sketches, songs and poetical dialogues. His drama series for radio, Baile an Droichid, was broadcast on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltacht from 1985 to 1995 and received the much-coveted Jacobs Award. He also won Gradam Litríochta Chló Iar-Chonnacht (The Cló Iar-Chonnach competition for literature) in 1998 for his collection of short stories Clochmhóin (1998) and again in 2002 for his novel Lámh Láidir (2001). He currently acts in the Irish-language television soap-opera, Ros na Rún, on TG4. He is married to Máirín and they have three children. An Dé Deiridh is his eighth book and is published by Cló Iar-Chonnacht.
