"I still love you," she murmured. "I loved you before the soul-bond, you know." Ivan's arms still held her tight. "This is different. That doesn't mean it has to be bad."

Ivan looked away. "I... It's like Velerian is in between how I feel about everyone and everything else." He looked down at his dragonling, who was stretched to full height with one front paw or taloned hand placed delicately on Ivan's belt.

"It's not your fault..." the tall knight said gently as Velerian looked at him with a certain anxiety, alternating that with giving Karana a rather suspicious look.

Karana looked between her fiancé and his dragonling speculatively. "That's... interesting. Senili is there, in my head, but my connection to our soul-bond isn't blocked. It's just that I'm not picking anything up from your end."
