Risteárd Mulcahy, MD, FRCP, is a renowned cardiologist, health campaigner, historian and environmentalist. He was the head of the cardiology department and the heart-disease research unit at St Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin. He is past president of the Irish Medical Association and the Irish Heart Foundation.
