In An Oriental Occident , Fairul and Kayleigh shares their thoughts, musings and observations based on their own personal experiences as they navigate through the highs, the lows, and the myriad of in-betweens of life. Their writing exposes the breadth of human emotions, demonstrating that ultimately we face the same joys, griefs, loves, hurts, despairs and hopes regardless of our origins.
With this debut collection, Fairul and Kayleigh reminds us what it means to be a living participant of our own lives, and the various roles others play in them, especially on days when all the noise threatens to overwhelm our minds and senses.

Autorenporträt
Fairul is a marine biologist by training, environmental consultant by trade, a writer of stories, screenplays, and poems, and a self-professed modern-day philosopher.

His semi-nomadic life has given him an idiosyncratic view of the world, observed from different lenses. His experiences has shaped him to be the person he is today, and he continues to seek new means to learn more about himself and the world he lives in.

An enigma even to himself, he is the very definition of an oxymoron. He loves the outdoors but also adore spending a quiet day indoors with a good book. He is generally calm with a tinge of madness. Meticulous but not lacking in spontaneity.

His quiet exterior often masking a chaotic mind, his joy of observing the world and all that is contained within it is often reflected in his stories and poetry.

Fairul's first book will debut in 2022.
