Orphaned at birth, she lost her pack to Human Beings, engaged in one of their bloody wars that had turned the Forest, once peaceful and serene, into a battlefield, razed to the ground in the urgency of battle. The helpless creature, too fragile to escape unscathed, had lost everything.
Discovered on the verge of death by a soldier on patrol, malnourished and frightened, the fox was taken under his protection and brought safely to the nearby Barracks, where he named her Anastasia.
