Autorenporträt
Rev. Joycelin Brown was born in Clarendon, Jamaica. After High School at Clarendon College she graduated from Shortwood Teachers' College, Jamaica; then taught at her High School Alma mater for two years. Within that time she married the love of her life, Trevor Brown. They migrated to Canada shortly after.
She became a born-again Christian at age 10; always adhering to the adage her grandmother planted in her, If you take care of God's business, He'll take care of yours. She has provided leadership in various areas, including Sunday School, Youth, and Women's Ministries. She is also a Seminar and Workshop Presenter, who focuses mainly on issues related to Youth, Marriage and Women. An Ordained Minister with the Church of God (Cleveland Tennessee); she currently serves as Associate Pastor of Temple of Praise Church of God, Toronto, where her husband Bishop Trevor Brown is the Senior Pastor.
Rev. Brown completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree at York University, Toronto; Guidance Specialist, University of Toronto, and a Master of Arts Degree, University of Central Michigan, U.S.A.
Mrs. Brown taught High School English in the Toronto District School Board for over 18 years then transitioned to become Department Head of Student Services. She was then promoted to Administration in the TDSB, before she transferred to the York Region District School Board, also as a School Administrator. She also served as Counsellor in the Youth Transition Program: Humber College.
Community Awards: Unsung Heroes Award (2014); York Regional Police "Deeds Speak" Award (2016); and Rare Diamond Community Award (2017). Indeed, she declares, God has been faithful!
