Autorenporträt


Ettore Pais (18561939) was a professor of ancient history and an expert on Latin inscriptions. He served as the director of the Naples National Archaeological Museum and was directly involved with the excavations at Pompeii. His works include La Sardegna prima del dominio romano (1881), Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum with Theodor Mommsen (1884), La civiltà dei nuraghi e lo sviluppo sociologico della Sardegna (1911), and Storia della Sardegna e della Corsica durante il dominio romano (1923).
