Autorenporträt
The Author being an avid reader of nature science books and especially of the animals and plants of Arizona, where he has lived most of his life began his writing career in the 5th grade. It was at Garfield school in Mrs. Whites class where he took care of all the creatures in the class room. He did the feeding, watering and cleaning out their homes as well as bringing in some of them himself. This 5th grade class was where he began writing book reports on the living creatures that inhabit the desert. By 6th grade he started putting on paper some of what he discovered while hiking out in the desert. Now at 74 years old he still reads about the plants and animals that are native to the desert and high country of Arizona but doesnt go hiking nearly as often as he once did. He can recall having walked through a swarm of wild honey bees, picking up a four foot long bull snake, also the bare handed carrying of a full grown tarantula, catching scorpions and so much more over his 74 years on earth. Though born in Amarillo Texas he lived most of his life in Phoenix Arizona but for the past 5 years he has resided in Prescott Arizona.
