"A MAN'S PERCEPTION IS HIS REALITY" is a saying that can perfectly stand alongside a person's life experiences without discounting their reality. This saying is a common theme throughout this book; the experiences shared are based on actual occurrences over thirteen years in the life of a naïve, comely, determined, and amiable young woman, Charisa. She grew from a place of naiveté - not knowing it was customary to have sexual urges as a virgin and her way of finding a cure for these urges - to gaining great credence in her love life. Recognition, acceptance and pouring love into her own love tank propelled her into resilience to walk away from hurting love. However, it took guts and strategic planning to get away from one of her lovers, Theo, a leader with a fierce, commanding, authoritarian personality that groomed her to fit into his social circle.
On her journey, Charisa managed to fit in the spaces of four different kinds of love, but she knew that she would never give up on love until she found he who would receive her love willingly and return it in the same measure or even more significant than she gave.
It was through these encounters that she embraced her poetic skill as a writer and became an author, showcasing the work that she once buried in a secret place as they contained the shame of her life's experience.
