Autorenporträt
Roger C. Viadero, Jr. is a Professor and Director of Western Illinois University's (WIU) Institute for Environmental Studies (IES) where he Chairs the interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in environmental science. Dr. Viadero is an aquatic environmental engineer who specializes in the remediation of environmental systems that have been adversely impacted by human activity. Given the broad scope of his work, Roger typically works with a multidisciplinary team of biologists, engineers, geographers, geologists, and planners, among others. Prior to joining WIU, Viadero was Robert C. Byrd Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at West Virginia University, where he directed the university-wide Center for Environmental Research.

Roger has served as President of the Aquacultural Engineering Society and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Aquacultural Engineering. He has also worked as a science adviser and panel manager for the Aquaculture and Aquatic Products Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program through the US Department of Agriculture's National Institute for Food and Agriculture. Professor Viadero is a board-certified environmental engineering member (BCEEM) of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists with a specialization in hazardous waste management and site remediation and is an Ecological Society of America-certified senior ecologist.
