The history of Arab coinage, from a scientific and artistic perspective, attracted many scholars who were credited with revealing many facts in this field. Despite the abundance of Orientalist researchers, Arab coins did not receive any attention from Easterners regarding their history other than what was written by writers such as Qudama ibn Jaafar and al-Qalqashandi or travelers such as Nasiri Khusraw and Ibn Battuta. Even these and these dealt in their books with the subject of Arab coins in occasional chapters or special chapters, with the exception of Al-Maqrizi, who devoted an independent booklet to it, which he called "The Anomalies of Contracts in Mention of Money," but they all share in being content with generalizing without understanding the subject, as he did. Orientalists who wrote on the same subject with much specialization and elaboration, although our Arab writers, in any case, had the advantage of being the first to record important information about money in their writings, from which the ancient Orientalists and moderns drew their inspiration.
