The intention of this paper shall be to define and explain the phenomena of ‘Subjek-tivierung’ and ‘Entgrenzung’ and to highlight them in the context of official journeys. First of all it is necessary to define what is mobile work and what is meant by a business trip. Afterwards the concept of ‘Subjektivierung’ and ‘Ent-grenzung’ is explained and a relationship to official journeys is established. Thereupon the phenomena of ‘normalization’, ‘economization’ and ‘agglomera-tion’ is illustrated and highlighted as well in the context of business trips. Meanwhile the conception of the ‘Mobilitätsregime’ is introduced. Afterall the trend of mobility is examined in a critical way and a forecast of the development is generated.
