Helen is chosen as an interviewer. Going in, she prepares for some fluffy, guilt-laden story filled with woe-is-me moments and a conflicted conscience about eating mortals. She expects some well-researched history with bad acting because she doesn't believe in vampires.

Quintillus is anything but conflicted. His story is filled with holes, disturbing imagery, and hints at vampiric secrets he shouldn't be sharing. She knows she shouldn't trust him, that she should question everything he says, but he takes her on a night-long adventure that is more than she bargained for.
