This resourced-based view allows for the development of core competencies. Because the globalisation of markets, its dynamism is no longer steerable; there is an interconnectedness which increases exponentially. People with their ability to solve problems are in the centre of these processes. With the instruments of Taylorism, complex enterprises cannot be steered for much longer. Furhtermoore, most employees will need to be more than executives of predetermined tasks. The promotion of the full potential in an enterprise and at the same time to realize the motivation of the people ist the priority pattern assignment of executives. Four empirical studies, which adumbrate sphere of action, flow into this Master Thesis. In the last chapter, the results of exploration of the relevant motivation theories an the one hand and the empirical studies on the other, will give an overview of the necessary terms and parameters. These are needed to create general conditions for a widely framed incentive system for knowledge based enterprises.
