Autorenporträt

Raised in the Greater Yellowstone Park region of Montana, the Author graduated from High School and University. His journey took an adventurous turn when he joined the U.S. Peace Corps as a volunteer in Nepal working as an extension agent in a village near the Indian border. Ostensibly there to teach farmers, he learned so much more from them than he could ever return. After his volunteer service, he remained in Nepal, guiding trekking groups through the Himalayas during the vibrant era of 1980s, living in Kathmandu, a city bustling with adventure travelers, mountaineers, spiritual seekers, and devotees of decadence, under a corrupt government regime. It was during one of these treks that Huisenga met his future wife, prompting his eventual return to the United States to complete his education. His career as a global food security specialist in international development centers on agricultural markets and behavioral sciences, managing agricultural initiatives. His travels have taken him to over 60 countries, often working in deeply impoverished rural areas. Amidst witnessing people's remarkable resilience despite hunger and destitution, he has been deeply moved by their overwhelming generosity and goodwill. Presently, he resides in Virginia with his wife, glad that she will have him.
