Balancing is nothing but a form of criticism, which distinguishes bad from good, and shows strengths and weaknesses in the methods of eloquence. And between Ibn Al-Mu'tazz and Ibn Al-Rumi, and between Abu Tammam and Al-Buhturi in the Abbasid state, and also the balances were held between those who excelled after those stalwarts until the era in which we live, and the era is close to what was written about the balance between Shawqi, Hafez and Mutran in the Egyptian and Syrian newspapers, and the writers still differ in their rulings.
