This thesis presents methods to fulfill the high speed and high accuracy demands of machine tools that have elastic drive systems with low eigenfrequencies. The methods, from parameter identification, to trajectory planning, to feedforward and feedback control structure, and to controller parameters are to make sure that the elastic drive systems bring no unacceptable deterioration of the quality of the workpiece due to vibrations.
