"Bargamot and Garaska" is a work by the representative of the Silver Age of Russian literature, the founder of Russian expressionism L. N. Andreev (1871-1919). This is the writer's first story (1898). It displays the pictures and customs of the street on which the Andreevs lived. According to the author, it was an imitation of Dickens. Under the influence of the disastrous conditions in which the writer was then, his first works are filled with sharp criticism of the modern world. Andreev also wrote the following works: "Defense", "Alyosha the Fool", "What the Jackdaw Saw", "Petka in the Dacha", "Angel", "Youth".
