Louise D. (Gagné) Jewell, grew up in a tiny village in rural Québec. She began her writing and illustrating career at the age of fourteen as the editor and publisher of Just a Little, a community newspaper widely circulated in Edelweiss Valley, Wakefield, Québec, in the summer of 1973. Louise's ancestors are French, Irish, and Algonquin. These three cultures honour the storytelling tradition, which she carries on. As a writer, artist, and retired clinical counsellor, Louise is passionate about sharing her message of hope through story, both written and in visual form.
