Autorenporträt
Dr. Halley M. Pontes is a Chartered Psychologist of the British Psychological Society (CPsychol), Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS), and Chartered Scientist (CSci) of the Science Council. He currently works as a researcher and lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London in the United Kingdom and his main research interests relate to the mental health and psychological well-being issues linked with emerging addictive behaviors such as gaming disorder, social media addiction, internet addiction, among other problematic behaviors. Dr. Pontes has received his PhD from the Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom and has published over 100 studies in several scientific journals and presented his work on numerous international conferences. He has been previously awarded with the Durand Jacobs Award from McGill University (Canada) and the Early Career Research Award from the Australian Psychological Society (Australia) for his important contributions to thepsychology of addictive behaviors and cyberpsychology.
