Gabriel Maria De Alejandría (nom de plume) was born and raised in Alexandria, Egypt. After finishing the Greek High School he joined the University of Alexandria and studied medicine. He then moved to England, where he obtained his PhD from the University of Leicester. Gabriel is an obstetrician and gynaecologist, and English is his third language. He has published several scientific works in English and a few articles and short stories in Greek. 'Behind the chair factory' is his first published literary work in English.
