John's lifelong love of nature is evidenced by his work for many national magazines, calendars, and book publishers. John has been hiking in North America for more than twenty-five years and enjoys biking, canoeing, kayaking, and birding. He resides in Eagle River, Alaska, where he makes his home in the Chugach Mountains with his wife Madelyn.
