"What the hell..." Kelly whispered to herself, her voice sounding too loud in the quiet of her bedroom. The faint vibration continued beneath her hand, warm, almost inviting.

Taking a deep breath, Kelly pressed her palm against the seam. She hesitated for just a momentone fleeting moment where she questioned her own sanitybefore pushing. To her shock, the wall responded. The seam began to widen, slowly at first, then faster, as the two halves of the wall parted, revealing a shimmering slit of light.

Kelly stumbled back, her eyes wide. "What... what is this?"

The portal before her was unlike anything she had ever seen. It shimmered like a mirage, the edges glowing faintly with a kaleidoscope of colors that twisted and folded in on themselves.
