The Garden motif is embedded throughout the novel, symbolizing our common humanity and origin. The first chapter reviews the story of Fall of Man. The second chapter is a chronological narrative of my life story in Istanbul, Turkey until my age, 30. It narrates my outer journey, as can be seen from outside. The third chapter narrates my inner journey, with reflections on various dimensions of my soul. It looks into the fundamental concerns of humanity from my perspective. The fourth chapter concludes the book by combining my inner and outer journeys with a final future vision.
The book follows the plot and outline of the Hero's Journey. By this way, it tries to re-enact the universal motif of adventure and transformation that runs through virtually all of the world's mythic traditions. The story is weaved with allusions to the great works of Turkish and Oriental literature but tailored for the western audience.
