Autorenporträt
Selma Lagerlöf (20 November 1858 16 March 1940) was a Swedish author and teacher. Hans Christian Andersen (2 April 1805 4 August 1875), in Denmark usually called H.C. Andersen, was a Danish author. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, he is best remembered for his fairy tales. Andersen's popularity is not limited to children; his stories express themes that transcend age and nationality. Eleanor H. Porter (December 19, 1868 May 21, 1920) was an American novelist, most known for Pollyanna (1913) and Just David (1916). Wilhelm Hauff (29 November 1802 18 November 1827) was a Württembergian poet and novelist. George MacDonald (10 December 1824 18 September 1905) was a Scottish author, poet and Christian minister. He was a pioneering figure in the field of modern fantasy literature and the mentor of fellow writer Lewis Carroll. In addition to his fairy tales, MacDonald wrote several works on Christian apologetics.
