During that period, while the French Revolution was spreading the banners of freedom and equality, whites agreed to those noble principles, but they refused to give their reins to blacks. In light of this stubborn debate, an immortal love story emerges, the love of a black slave in which chivalry, tenderness, and nobility of morals are embodied. Its features are told through a bitter bloody conflict and a fierce war that broke out between the races, giving the novel a character of elegance and depth.
