Dr. Mary Sandra Todora is an educator who loves children and teaching and learning. She comes from a large family that values children and learning. She is an avid reader and decided to write this book about 10 years ago when she told this story to kindergarten children who loved it and asked if they could see the book.
Dr. Todora has two professions. As a teacher, she has taught grades three through eight in Fresno and Modesto, California. She became a school administrator in 1986 as a Learning Specialist. Her administrative umbrella includes being a Director of Curriculum; Director of Special Services, Staff Development and Testing; an Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Curriculum; and a Superintendent of schools. She is also a Reading Specialist.
She graduated from Youngstown State University in 1971 with a degree in Elementary Education. She received her Master's degree from Fresno State University in Fresno California and her Doctorate from Kent State University. She attended Choffin School of Nursing in Youngstown, Ohio. As a nurse, she worked with newborn babies.
Dr. Todora is married and has two grown children, Bill and Nicolle, and three grown stepchildren, Christine, Brad and Doug. She and her husband Lou have two beautiful granddaughters, Jennifer and Julia, and are awaiting the birth of twin boys from Nicolle and another baby from Christine.
Dr. Todora loves to read, write, cook, golf, and bake cookies with her grandchildren.
