The origin of this book is from the manuscripts of Dar al-Kutub al-Zahiriyya in Damascus. It was collected and bound at the beginning of this century, and the republication of the book is considered the revival of a new material from the history of Egypt and the Levant. In this book, al-Balawi portrayed Ahmad ibn Tulun in a beautiful image, and for praise he bestowed a loose garment, and depicted his intelligence. And the strength of his observation, and his vision and policy, his justice and mercy, and his alms and generosity, admiring everything that came to him, and apologizing to him for what his hands did. Ibn Tulun had a good upbringing, as he grew up in the most honorable era of Baghdad as a soldier imprinted with the most beautiful qualities of an honorable soldier. He was taught in his home as a child things that benefited him in his life, and he memorized the Qur'an and its authenticity, and he was fluent in Arabic, so he was considered one of the most eloquent politicians with his tongue and pen, and he took a good piece from the hadith scholars. He was educated, had a beautiful voice, mastered music, and composed poetry in Turkish, the language of his father and mother.
