Bei ihren Ermittlungen trifft sie auf Will, der sich auf Totems spezialisiert hat. Er vermutet, dass es übernatürliche Gründe für die Geschehnisse gibt, Jessie will davon nichts wissen. Sie glaubt nicht an "Woo-Woo", wie sie es nennt. Schreibstil/Text:
Das Buch wird aus Jessies Sicht erzählt, wodurch man den mysteriösen Geschehnissen mit ihr zusammen auf den Grund gehen kann.
Der Schreibstil hat mir gefallen. Die Geschichte ist flüssig geschrieben und die Sprache passt zu den Charakteren.
Ab und zu habe ich kleine Fehler im Text entdeckt, aber es waren nicht zu viele.
Charaktere/Beziehungen:
Jessie habe ich gleich gemocht. Ich glaube zwar, dass sie ziemlich anstrengend sein kann, aber über sie zu lesen hat Spaß gemacht. Sie hat ihren eigenen Kopf, einen sarkastischen Humor, sagt, was sie denkt und nimmt oft kein Blatt vor den Mund.
Ihre Handlungsweise konnte ich nachvollziehen, auch wenn ich ein ganz anderer Typ bin als sie.
Jessies Beziehung zu Will war interessant, sexy und hat mir sehr gefallen. Die beiden sind toll zusammen.
Will habe ich sofort gemocht. Ein intelligenter, sexy Professor... äh Doktor - ich glaube, Professor war er noch nicht -, der sich auch noch verteidigen kann. Was will man mehr? :-)) Warum er immer wieder nackt durch die Gegend läuft, verstehe ich zwar nicht, aber Jessie hat der Anblick sicherlich nicht gestört, und wenigstens macht er es nur in abgelegenen Gegenden. :-))
Jessies aufkeimende Freundschaft zu Mandenauer hat mir auch gefallen. Sie hat dem alten Kerl sogar noch beigebracht, mal Scherze zu machen.
Handlung:
Zur Handlung selbst möchte ich nicht allzu viel sagen. Ich will ja nicht alles verraten.
Die Geschichte fand ich spannend, sie hatte einige Wendungen und selbst beim 2. Mal lesen war ich wieder von ein paar Dingen überrascht.
Die Beziehung von Jessie und Will stellt zwar einen wichtiger Teil des Buches dar, ist aber nicht alles. Es gibt interessante Handlungsstränge und mysteriöse Geschehnisse aufzudecken, wodurch keine Langeweile aufkommt.
Fazit:
Alles in allem, ein gelungenes Buch. Es hat mir sehr gefallen. Der einzige Grund für einen Stern Abzug ist, dass ich beim Lesen nicht diesen „Wow-Effekt“ gespürt habe und am liebsten unbedingt sofort mehr davon lesen wollte, wie es bei ein paar anderen Büchern der Fall ist. Das bedeutet aber nicht, dass ich die Reihe nicht weiterlese. Ich bin mittlerweile schon bei Buch 7.
Wenn es möglich wäre, hätte ich eher 4,5 Sterne vergeben.
