"I had the open woods to play in and the orange grove to pretend anything my mind would wish to entertain. I truly had freedom to explore. I mostly followed my big sisters around until they started dating and had a life that didn't include me. Then I followed my brother (just 18 months older) and his friends around, but that always ended badly, they were pretty mean. I was mostly on my own after the age of eight."

Autorenporträt
I have led a very interesting life. Some would say, from unbelievably good to unbelievably bad. I lived through a lot of twists and turns. I was born in SW Florida in 1944 before electricity was available to rural communities. I grew up in the Florida woods and actually was a very happy child. I loved my parents with all my insides and remembered everything around me from the age of two and a half. I was outgoing, competitive and completely unaware of self during my first years through the 5th grade. But, a twist of fate changed my personality into the opposite during that following summer. I developed social anxiety, and become very self-conscious of my own image and lost all confidence of my own self worth. By a miracle, at age 62, after a 6 year long recovery from a cardiac arrest, I slowly found myself again; that little 10 year old mindset that was completely outgoing, competitive and unaware of self. It has been an amazing journey back to the personality I was born to become.
