Autorenporträt
P.T. (Pete) Magee is a retired Professor of Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Minnesota. His scientific career spanned the period from the discovery of the DNA double helix to the mapping of the entire human genome. In his academic career he served as Dean of Trumbull College at Yale during the Black Panther Trials in New Haven in 1968 and welcomed the first Yale women students in 1969. He and his wife and scientific collaborator, Bebe, made major contributions to the molecular biology of the deadly yeast, Candida. His academic career included Chair of Microbiology at Michigan State University and Dean of the College of Biological Science at the University of Minnesota.
