Bowen, Queensland, Australia is a large town on Queensland's north coastline. Geographically, it's strongly linked to the Whitsunday Islands. Compared to Whitsundays destinations like Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island, Bowen is less publicised yet is a desirable tourist destination for its coconut palms on its tropical beaches, rocky walking trails, lookouts over stunning blue waters, mango ices such as sorbets and views from mainland to the west - due to it lying on a peninsula thus allowing sunset viewing over its Queens Bay. This book outlines history, vantage points, bays and beaches, accommodation recommendations, access and travelling around Bowen and some description of commerce and town services.
