Broken Times Part IV in this gripping series

Scotland 1683

As James Renwick returns to Scotland, accompanied by the young Jonas Hawthorne, in search of adventure, an undeterred John Steel is still living the life of a fugitive, hunted day and night by Claverhouse's men.

When John and Jonas reunite, Jonas soon finds himself caught up in the intrigues of 17th century Scotland: amid accusations of witchcraft and almost constant acts of violence, it seems that no-one can escape the desperate times they are living through, and Jonas's desire for adventure soon proves to be more dangerous than he had bargained for.

Gripping and rich in detail, this immaculately researched book is the fourth instalment in Ethyl Smith's Times series.

Autorenporträt
Ethyl Smith is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art and a Fellow of Manchester School of Advanced Studies. She is also a graduate of the University of Strathclyde Novel Writing course and the Stirling University M.Litt. Creative Writing course.

Ethyl followed a carreer in illustrating and design lecturing, before following an interest in holistic therapy & hypnotherapy, which she now teaches.

Her short stories have appeared in a range of magazines including Scottish Field, Gutter, Scottish Memories, Mistaken Identities (edited by Jame Robertson), Mixing the Colours Anthology, and Scottish Book Trust Anthology.

Her interest in Scottish language and history, particularly 17th century, led to a trilogy based on covenanting times, where greed, power, and religion created a dangerous mix. Changed Times is the first in that series.
