Our Islamic heritage is still in dire need of an organized study, its topics investigated by modern research methods, and comparisons drawn between it and European thought that reveal the scientific wealth it contains, and show the extent to which the West has been influenced by it and follows its methods. This type of study serves the purpose of reviving and spreading our Arab heritage. What is sad about the soul is that it remains dependent on other nations, even in our own matters and achieving them? The Orientalists preceded us in discovering the precious things left behind by Muslim scholars, and they examined them with careful research. The "Ikhwan al-Safa" are among these Muslim thinkers, to whom hardly any of the modern scholars of the East paid the attention they deserve, even though they are at the forefront in terms of their broad culture, their simplification of the muscles of philosophy, and their approach to philosophical issues with an Islamic thought that attempts to mix faith and philosophy and reconcile them. So that the religion they believed in and loved would not conflict with the philosophy they fell in love with and in which they found nourishment for their minds. Most of the Muslim philosophers who came after them followed them in this.
