Carolina Machado, Ph.D., has expertise in Management Sciences, specifically within the areas of Organizational and Policies Management and Human Resources Management. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Minho in 1999, a Master's degree in Management from the Technical University of Lisbon (1994) and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Minho (1989). With a teaching tenure at the University of Minho dating back to 1989, Carolina Machado has been a stalwart in the realm of Human Resources Management. She attained the rank of Associate Professor in 2004, and as of 2022, she holds a Habilitation. Her extensive experience and research interests encompass various facets of human resource management, including International Human Resource Management, HRM in SMEs, training and development, emotional intelligence, management change, knowledge management, and the intersection of management/HRM in the digital age and business analytics. Additionally,her focus extends to sustainability and higher education sustainability.
