When they are compelled to take some time to fix their marriage by a questionable therapist, they leave on a road trip in Jaxx's 1962 Chevy Impala-his pride and joy. Unfortunately, what seemed like a good idea at the time, turns into a multi-state police chase as the couple is kidnapped by an escaped murderer seeking to go out in a blaze of glory.

Everything is not as it seems, and Birdie has to question her allies: can she go back after her life on the run?

Cindi LeRoy is an imaginative and prolific writer, with a great sense of humor and adventure. She bases many of her stories on her travels and has taken numerous road trips on the famous Route 66, the setting for her debut novel, Bullet Proof Marriage. The book combines her love of American nostalgia and for creating characters based on acquaintances she has met by going off the beaten path.She has written a documentary and short films which have aired on public television. Her goal is to tell entertaining and thrilling stories. She is a creative thinker and has dozens of stories in the pipeline. Cindi has been known to drink way too many lattes in one day while sitting at her computer writing her stories.Cindi received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin, and her MSC from Screenwriting U Screenwriter Certificate Program. She is also a member of Romance Writers of America and has attended a Writers' Police Academy conference.Cindi lives in Wisconsin with her husband, and her very spoiled Yorkie.
