"Right." Mike expelled a breath and nodded. "So, I've noticed you both work. I'm assuming your budget requires you to? Like most young couples, you need the double income?"

"Yeah, sure do," Colin answered flatly.

"And may I ask if there's any wealth in your family? Are either of you in line for a big inheritance down the track, at all?"

We both laughed. "Yeah right! We wish!" I scoffed.

Colin joined me chuckling. "Nah, man, there ain't no big dollars or anything coming our way, unfortunately. We're the only ones in both families that ever even had a mortgage. So unless we win the lottery or something!"

Mike joined in chuckling too. "Okay then. A typical outlook, the kind almost every young husband and wife face when starting out. That's all good. That's great, and take every opportunity to be successful and enjoy a wonderful, hard-working life together." He finished his statement looking from me to my husband and back. He nodded a little, gave a small shrug. "Unless an opportunity to shortcut a lot of the hard work came along, that is." His brows lifted. "I have a proposition for you both that, if accepted, would mean that one income would be more than enough, and worrying about expenses such as childcare and the like, would be history."

The man paused. I could feel my husband's heart pounding at his chest. He was crushing my hand.

"What kind of proposition?" I asked, my voice catching. I cleared my throat. "Is it sexual?"

The older man nodded. "Yes, it's sexual." He held my eyes for a moment then looked to Colin. "I'm sure you would have guessed as much."
