Autorenporträt
Inspiration struck Vicki Tashman 4 years ago when her daughter graduated from college and moved back home with 2 cats in tow. She imagined the cats belonging to Cleopatra and, wow, the stories they could tell! After researching many people in history, she settled on writing her first book about Thomas Jefferson and his dog, Buzzy. Other books in the works are about Queen Victoria and her dog, Dash, the Wright Brothers and their dog, Flyer and Benjamin Franklin and his squirrel, Mungo. Vicki has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado. She is a breast cancer survivor and has been an advocate for 10 years. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Children's Book Writers of Los Angeles (CBW-LA) and the Publisher's Association of Los Angeles (PALA). She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their 2 golden retrievers, Ricky and Georgia.
