Produktbeschreibung
Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century America, Grace Livingston Hill's "By the Way of the Silverthorns" intricately weaves a tale of love, faith, and self-discovery. This poignant narrative follows the journey of its protagonist, exploring themes of purity and morality through richly drawn characters and Hill's signature optimistic prose. The novel exemplifies the author's influence within the genre of Christian fiction, as it navigates the complexities of interpersonal relationships in a society grappling with modernity and changing values, all while remaining steadfastly rooted in Christian ideals. Grace Livingston Hill, often heralded as the pioneer of Christian romance fiction, draws upon her own life experiences-her deep faith and connections to various social circles in her time-to create compelling stories that resonate with readers seeking guidance and hope. Born in a family of strong, religious values, Hill channelled her passion for writing into crafting narratives that not only entertained but also reinforced moral principles and the importance of faith in everyday life. "By the Way of the Silverthorns" stands as a captivating read for those who appreciate sentimental fiction laced with probing questions of morality and spirituality. Autorenporträt
Grace Livingston Hill was an early 20th-century novelist and wrote both under her real name and the pseudonym Marcia Macdonald. She wrote over 100 novels and numerous short stories and her characters are most often young female Christian women or those who become so within the confines of the story. Hill's messages are simple in nature: good versus evil. As Hill believed that the Bible was very clear about what was good and evil in life and had firm faith God's ability to restore everything, the same belief was also reflected in her own works. Even today Hill's novels are widely read and appreciated for their romance and their inspiring life lessons.
