Demons overrun the city of San Francisco in the 1920s, leaving it to supernatural gumshoes to deal with them and protect the public at large...

Raven's in over her head. After a dangerous fling with a gangster, she discovers he's working for the deadly demon Moloch. When a simple mission to gather intel from a religious man goes horribly wrong, attracting the attention of Byron Hayes, a brooding supernatural investigator with a haunted past, Raven's life spins out of control. The scene at the ruined church tells Byron everything he needs to knowthis isn't just a bad break, it's a warning.

To save herself, Raven must spin a desperate tale, convincing Byron to help her find an ancient artifact capable of killing Moloch, or else she's as good as deador worse. But Moloch doesn't take kindly to threats, and neither does Byron. The rising stakes draw Byron deeper into a tangled web of dark forces. What is Moloch searching for in Chinatown? Where is his missing exorcist "sort-of" girlfriend? And what does an old sword have to do with it all?

In a city teeming with secrets and shadows, Raven may not escape the deadly grasp of the demon lord... unless she can outwit both Moloch and the dangerous investigator who could be her salvationor her downfall.

Are you a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Grimm, or Underworld and want to read something exciting in a similar vein? Read this thrilling Christian new adult series reminiscent of the best of Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker!

Autorenporträt
Charity Bishop is funny, quirky, analytical, a little sentimental, and occasionally forgetful, with an offbeat sense of humor, a tendency to like sci-fi, and a storehouse of knowledge about "useless trivia." She gets fixated on learning things, and obsesses over them until she knows everything there is to know about them, then looks for something new to learn. She gets bored with "same-ness," but is good at impartiality and seeing both sides in an argument. In fact, she's likely to argue both sides for the sheer fun of it.

She grew up in the church and was saved at a young age, but re-evaluated and re-dedicated her life to Christ three years ago. Since then, God has encouraged her to trust Him with her life and future which sometimes is an uphill battle for a stubborn girl. As she struggles with understanding His ways along with her characters, He gently reveals the answers. He's her co-author, both in the stories she tells and in her very own story.

Her day job is a magazine editor, and her hobbies (other than writing books) include over-analyzing everything she comes into contact with, vigorously defending various incarnations of Sherlock Holmes against perceived injustices, irritating her friends with theological musings, and MBTI typing fictional characters.
