Can bureaucracy be effective? (Spoiler: yes!) The principles of bureaucracy are the glue that holds together not only huge, complex government systems, but also large commercial organizations, preventing them from collapsing under their own weight. The problems most often lie in unreasonably bloated organizational structures, poorly built business processes and a corporate culture that is not aimed at results. The good news is that bureaucracy does not prevent large commercial companies (not all, of course) from achieving their goals. The experience of the most successful of them is enough to identify effective management methods and practices that can and should be implemented in public authorities. About the technologies of effective management and how to use them in the state apparatus, in detail, thoughtfully and at the same time vividly tells "Bureocracy without Pain". The practical recommendations from the book are applicable at all levels of government and in all leadership positions. And the key word here is "practical", since each proposed technology is not a utopia "how nice it would be to do", but was successfully tested by the author and his team in real work in the civil service and brought tangible results.
