Call of the Lilies, written in Arabic, is a memoir of a Palestinian woman who was 14 years old when her village Tantoura was uprooted in 1948. Fayzeh Al-Yahya recalls her journey from the time she witnessed the Tantoura massacre through various milestones in her rich life. As the daughter of a renowned Palestinian lawyer, she recalls her career as an Arabic literature teacher over almost six decades. She also shares intimate moments in her life as a wife and a mother of three sons. She modestly reminisces on how her journey could have been that of any Palestinian woman and it is one that is worth sharing; as the memories of the white lilies of Tantoura never left her thoughts, not even for a day.
